RED VELVET OREO BALLS #oreo #cookies #cream #cheese
Red Velvet Oreo Balls
Ingredients
- 1 packet of finely crushed OREO Red Velvet cookies (12.2 oz package)
- 8 oz. softened brick cream cheese
- 2 1/2 cups dark chocolate
- DRIZZLE: 10 slices of red fondant chocolate + 5 semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Overwrite OREO cookies. I used a small food processor, but you can use a blender, or you can place the cookies in a sealed plastic bag and mash them with a meat mallet! I found that the blender worked best when I was baking half the cookies at a time, rather than trying to crush the 36 at a time. Use a fork to stir the mixture between the mixes to obtain the finest consistency.
- Mix the crumbs with the cream cheese until smooth.
- Use a cookie spoon to measure about 1.5 TBSP of the cookie mixture and roll each ball into a ball. Place the Oreo balls on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper or wax.
- * Freeze the balls for about 20-30 minutes before soaking them.
- Melt the candy coating or chocolate in the microwave for about 1 minute 20 seconds. Stir gently until smooth, turning to microwave in 15-second increments, if necessary.
- Dip each ball in the chocolate and put it back in an upholstered mold.
- Place the red fondant wafers + the semi-sweet chocolate chips in a sandwich bag. Microwave for 40 seconds. Gently massage the bag to combine the colors. Cut a small corner of the bag and sprinkle chocolate on each Oreo ball. Sprinkle with Valentine's Day glitter, if desired.
